Quick note this is something I usually tell friends when they say they’re applying to jobs but not hearing back.

Before you apply, open the job description and read it once…

but this time, don’t think about your resume.

Just look for patterns.

Which tools keep repeating?

Which skills show up more than once?

Which outcomes do they care about?

Now ask yourself one honest question:

“Would someone reading my LinkedIn profile see these same words?”

Most people apply with a great resume, but their LinkedIn still speaks a different language.

And since recruiters use LinkedIn like a search engine, that mismatch quietly hurts visibility.

You don’t need to rewrite everything.

Even small changes help:

- add one relevant skill

- tweak a line in your headline

- update the first sentence in your About section

Those little updates signal to LinkedIn (and to recruiters) that your profile matches what they’re looking for.

I’ve seen people do just this nothing more and suddenly start getting profile views again.

Try it before your next application.
