Most headlines only show a job title.

❌ “Marketing Manager at Company X”

But recruiters don’t search job titles —

they search skills.

Try something like:

✅ “Marketing Manager | B2B SaaS Growth | Paid Acquisition & SEO”

Add 3–4 keywords recruiters actually type into LinkedIn’s search bar.

This alone can triple your visibility.

2. Your About section starts with “I am…”

The first 2 lines decide whether someone clicks See more.

Weak openers lose the reader.

❌ “I am a passionate professional who…”

Instead, lead with your strongest outcome:

✅ “I’ve generated $8M in revenue for B2B companies in 5 years.”

Hook them fast.

You have one sentence.

3. Your experience lists duties, not results

Responsibilities don’t stand out.

Numbers do.

❌ “Managed social media accounts”

✅ “Grew Instagram from 2K to 94K followers, generating $340K in attributed revenue.”

Use:

[Action verb] + [What you did] + [Measurable result]

4. Your skills are in random order

Your first 3 skills are the ones LinkedIn shows everywhere.

Choose:

• A searchable skill

• A skill you’re actually strong in

• A skill relevant to your next job

Reorder takes seconds — impact lasts months.

5. Your Featured section is empty

This is your “proof” section.

Show:

• Portfolio pieces

• Presentations

• Articles

• Certifications

• Projects

It’s the second place recruiters check after your headline.

Give them something worth clicking.

6. Your profile photo isn’t helping you

Casual selfies lose more opportunities than people think.

You don’t need a studio shoot —

just:

• Clear lighting

• A simple background

• A friendly expression

• Professional clothing

Profiles with good photos get 14x more views.

7. You updated once… then never touched it again

LinkedIn boosts profiles that look alive.

Small updates count:

• Add a new skill

• Refresh one bullet

• Tweak your headline

• Add a recent win

Even a tiny change signals to the algorithm that your profile is active.
